About the Tournament
The annual Michael Worrod Help the Kids Play slo-pitch tournament is held annually during the first weekend of July in conjunction with the Tottenham Community Week. The tournament features slo-pitch games at Coventry Park in Tottenham and teams are made up of players from the 3 local Tottenham leagues – the Tottenham Men’s Slo-Pitch League, the Tottenham Ladies Lob-ball League and the Tottenham Old-timers Slo-Pitch League. The tournament is oriented towards a fun time and therefore is not sanctioned by any of the Slo-Pitch Associations.
In addition to the slo-pitch games, other events run throughout the weekend including a TOT Alumni Game, Men’s League vs. Old-timers League All-Star Game, a Home Run Derby and live music.
Proceeds from the tournament go directly to raise funds for the Help the Kids Play Program. We encourage all local slo-pitch players, in addition to all members of the community, to participate in this great event to support local kids.
The tournament organizers wish to the thank the Tottenham slo-pitch leagues for their continued support and participation.
2013 Tournament Highlights
Another highly successful tournament fun weekend was had by all. The threatening skies that appeared early on Sunday morning turned into heavy showers, causing a 90 minute delay which shifted the Sunday schedule and as a result, the All-Star game was cancelled.
With time to kill, Don Booth and Roger Burton duelled in an arm wrestling match during the delay. Special thanks to the emergency field maintenance crew (Dennis Short, Fraser Barratt, Roger Burton, Dave Argue, Jamie McClean, Jeff Dancey, Gary Cox, Chris Ross and Steve Ross) for getting the diamonds into shape for the afternoon games.
Lisa Piellusch from Picture Your Life Photography has posted over 600 photos from the weekend, click here to view the photos. Lisa kindly volunteered her time and professional expertise to take pictures over the course of the weekend for the three leagues in the Michael Worrod Help the Kids Play Slo-Pitch tournament held July 5-7. Great job, Lisa!!!

All-Star Game
Due to the heavy rain on Sunday morning, the All-Star was scrapped from the HTKP weekend schedule. However both teams were eager to face-off in this 4th annual game which has turned into a competative but friendly rivalry and arrangements were made to host the game during the TOT SPN tournament on August 18.
The Oldtimers All-Stars pulled out a come-from-behind victory over the Young Timers All-Stars that, again, went into extra innings. Spectacular defensive plays by both teams made for a highly entertaining event. Both teams are to be congratulated for putting on a great slo-pitch game.
